Can you imagine 19 million people following you on Twitter? This is a reality experienced by pop singer Lady Gaga, since this amount of fans on the microblog promotes her as the one with the most followers worldwide. But Gaga wants more: the singer announced her own social network, which is already in the process of distributing invitations for beta tests, implying that she has been developing the platform for some time.
See for yourself: the network is called “Little Monsters“and by clicking on the link, you can request an early access invitation.
A brief look at the site indicates that it will have an emphasis on publishing multimedia content, that is, photos and videos should be a priority. The site is being managed by the startup called “Backplane”, a company co-founded by four executives, one of whom is Troy Carter, Lady Gaga’s manager. In an interview with MashableCarter said that “Backplane is focused on bringing communities together and the community that follows ‘Gaga’ happens to be the one we are using to learn about how it works.” Boldly, he adds: “we believe that we can change the world”.
What do you think? valid to give popstar network a chance? Or do we already have too many relationships on the internet?
