Little recognized in the cinema, the “sympathetic” undead, better known as zombies, have achieved a certain prominence in the last decade. Productions such as Resident Evil, and the latest The Walking Dead – both inspired by the stories of games and comics – have taken these poor creatures out of the picture.
But, what if you could become a zombie? And more: participate in the American series The Walking Dead, which has been successful among young people? this is what Fox International Channels is promoting. The broadcaster has launched an online casting contest worldwide to recruit people, whether professional actors or not, to play the role of the undead in the next season of the series, which is set to debut by the end of 2012.
The competition has two phases. At first, interested parties need to access an application available on Fox’s Facebook page. Once registered, the contestants have to create an avatar with the theme, and the most creative will be selected for the next stage, which takes place in March this year, in Los Angeles (United States).
Each region on the planet will have a finalist, and Brazil, separated from other countries in Latin America, will have an exclusive undead. The chosen ones from the five continents – including you, Brazilian! – I am going to travel to Los Angeles in March this year to participate in the casting tests with Greg Nicotero, producer and special effects and makeup artist of the series. Only the big winners of the contest will be defined.
The regulation provides for the selection of a candidate by country, namely Brazil, United Kingdom, Japan, Spain, Taiwan, Australia, Turkey, Greece and the Netherlands, in addition to Latin America as a whole.
“Fans around the world rarely have the chance to participate in anything like this. This competition is a unique opportunity for zombie lovers to realize their dream of appearing in the series. A grand prize and we are excited to launch this world competition that will make the dream come true. of some people in reality, “said Alexandra Marinescu, vice president of marketing for Fox International Channels.
