WhatsApp is available free of charge for those who have an iPhone. The application will be free of charges for a limited time, but the company does not inform when the promotion ends.
Before, the web messaging app cost US $ 0.99 (R $ 2.06) for customers of Apple’s operating system; on Android it comes out for free, but only for the first 12 months of use – after that you will also be charged $ 0.99.
As it does not show advertising, WhatsApp has the sale of the app as its main source of income. The promotion, however, should cause a jump in the number of users, putting it at an advantage in a disputed market that has Viber, Kik, Facebook Messages, among others.
