New York Museum of Modern Art to have collection of games

The MoMa (Museum of Modern Art in New York) announced on Thursday, 29, that it will open a permanent collection of games. According to Engadget, the museum acquired a selection of 14 old games, such as Pac-Man and Tetris, both from the 80’s.

According to the blog at Moma, this initial selection is only the beginning of a collection with about 40 titles that will be part of a “new category of works of art”.

“Our criteria of choice is the look of the games, but also other aspects, such as the elegance of the game code,” said Paola Antonelli, curator of the collection Museum blog.
