Facebook’s main challenge is to find out the best way to adapt the social network for mobile devices. Who said this was the creator of the service, Mark Zuckerberg, according to Bloomberg.
Zuckerberg believes that the user experience is very different on PCs and smartphones or tablets and, therefore, it is complicated to adapt Facebook features for mobile devices.
Since Facebook became a public company in May, the pressure for the social network to earn more advertising revenue has grown. With more than 500 million people accessing the smartphone or tablet service, mobile advertising is seen as fundamental to increasing earnings.
To encourage advertisers to buy space in its mobile version, Facebook has developed features based on the user’s location that allows it to show more relevant ads according to the person’s location.
