Iran grants access to Google and Gmail

About a week after starting the operations of an internal information network and blocking access to Google and Gmail, Iran went back to the restrictions and already allows Internet users in the country to enter the services.

According to the BBC, the Gmail block was accidental. The Iranian government’s intention was to prevent access to YouTube.

“We don’t want YouTube to be accessible,” said a member of the Iranian telecommunications organization. Now country officials are studying a way to prevent access to YouTube without harming Gmail. “It will happen soon”.
