‘X-Men’ director to turn Farmville into TV series

Zynga will see one of its main games transformed into a television series, and by the hands of renowned entertainment professionals. Director Brett Ratner, who starred in the film “X-Men: The Final Showdown” and the “Rush Hour” franchise, led the creation of a series based on Farmville.

Ratner, who also served as executive producer on the TV series “Prision Break”, will be joined by producers Kirk Schenck, Charles Bishop and Nina Gelb, according to Wall Street Journal.

“Farmville is one of the most interesting brands today and its multiplatform opportunities are endless,” commented he, who works with Canadian television production company Six Eleven.

Each episode of the series will be 30 minutes long. The premiere date was not released.
