Shazam passes 300 million users

More than 300 million people already use Shazam to discover information about the sound of their environment. The figures were released today by the platform’s CEO, Andrew Fisher.

Currently, the application discovers names of the song and the band (or singer). In the United States, it is also possible to identify TV programs just by approaching a smartphone or tablet with the app to the point that emits the sound (learn more).

Fisher announced that the version of the app for iPads and tablets with Android will be completely overhauled in the coming weeks to create a deeper experience of engagement and exploration.

“This is the most efficient way to experience more of the surrounding media, whether you are at home or anywhere else in the world,” he said in a statement.
