Netflix, the video streaming service, will stop showing 1,794 movies and series on Wednesday, 1. The list includes classics like “Mondays,” 007 and Dr.No “, in addition to 15 seasons of” South Park “.
The measure is only valid for the United States, but it is not yet known which of the titles may disappear in the future from the Brazilian catalog.
The films “go out of business” because their licenses, negotiated with companies like Warner, MGM and Universal, are expiring. Many of them will be available on Warner Archive Instant, which also broadcasts classic films from the producer, at $ 10 a month.
In a statement, Netflix claims that despite the loss, it won 500 new titles this May 1. “Netflix is a dynamic service, we constantly update the TV shows and movies available to our users,” he says. The network explains that it usually opens up content that does not have much audience.
