Gartner has revealed some figures about the mobile advertising market. According to the consultancy, the global sales of the sector should reach US $ 11.4 billion in 2013. If the forecast is realized, the market will have an increase of US $ 1.8 billion compared to 2012.
The research company still bets that in 2016, the worldwide sales of mobile advertising will reach US $ 24.5 billion. Gartner believes that the growth of the sector will generate new opportunities for app developers, ad networks, platform providers, specialized agencies and communications service providers in certain regions.
Historically, the adoption of gadgets in Japan and South Korea has given the region of Asia an initial advantage in mobile advertising. However, high-growth economies such as China and India are expected to increasingly contribute to the growth of the segment, as the middle classes of these countries will become attractive public to global brands.
In Latin America, Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa, the growth of mobile advertising will depend on the adoption of technology and the stabilization of emerging economies. The biggest growth is expected to happen in Russia, Brazil and Mexico.
