iTunes reaches 25 billion songs downloaded

The iTunes Store has spent 25 billion songs purchased and downloaded. Song number 25,000,000,000 is the remix of “Monkey Drums”, by Chase Bunch, and was purchased by the German Phillip Lüpke.

For representing the brand, Lüpke received a gift card from Apple worth 10,000 euros – which can only be used on iTunes.

The Apple store has existed for ten years and is the most popular in the world when it comes to selling music. Its catalog has more than 26 billion songs, available in 119 countries. In a statement, the company’s senior vice president of Internet Software & Services, Eddy Cue, said that an average of 15,000 songs are downloaded per minute through the platform.
