Six months after the launch of the #Music app, rumors are emerging that Twitter is going to take it down. “Multiple” sources consulted by AllThingsD confirmed the speculation without, however, saying when it will happen.
It is not clear why Twitter will end the app, but it is a fact that it has not given very encouraging results. Released in April, the #Music even came to be among the main Apple App Store, but in August it had already plummeted – it was number 1,672, according to Onavo’s ranking. Among music apps for iOS, Twitter is 264th, according to AppAnnie.
#Music suggests artists and music tracks based on the Internet user’s behavior within the network. In addition, it displays video clips and allows users to access outsourced services. Vevo videos are also available. It was expected that it would arrive in Brazil soon, as well as an Android version, but that did not happen.
