Sony launches two 4K TVs in Brazil

Sony today announced the launch of two TVs with 4K resolution in Brazil. The models are 55 and 65 inches and will hit the market in July this year, reaching consumers in time for the 2014 World Cup.

They are devices with a 4K LED panel (3840 x 2160 pixels), whose approximate resolution is 8.29 megapixels – equivalent to four times that of a Full HD TV. In the case of the one with 65 “, the ideal capacity is reached if the viewer is at a distance of 1.3 meters, from where the individual pixels are not seen.

The company had already launched a 4K 3D model last November, but it was 84 inches. Sony’s intention with the new launches, according to the general manager of Marketing, Carlos Paschoal, to popularize the technology adopting “more accessible prices” – which were not disclosed.

Televisions come with the 4K X-Reality PRO video processor, which allows you to view images more accurately. Also present is the Triluminos Display technology, for reproducing more colors than ordinary TVs, and NFC for “One-touch Mirroring”, with which it is possible to mirror the screen of Xperia smartphones on the TV when approaching the device to a remote control that is sold separately.
