Netflix is reinforcing its programming through a multi-year agreement with DreamWorks Animation. The producer is responsible for children’s films such as Shrek, Madagascar and Kung Fu Panda.
After the announcement of the partnership, the shares of the streaming service rose almost 7% at 12:30 pm (Brasilia time), while DreamWorks shares advanced 4.3%.
The producer stated that the agreement, which involves 300 hours of new programming, is the basis of an important initiative to expand television production and distribution.
Netflix will launch new programs produced by the partner in all territories in which it operates. The first new series should be available in 2014.
