Launched last year along with iOS 7, the iTunes Radio music streaming service could become a standalone application in the next version of Apple’s mobile operating system.
Today the service can only be accessed through the “Music” application, but sources close to the company’s plans informed the 9to5Mac that Radio would come pre-installed on iPhones, iPads and iPods, with a functioning identical to the current one.
The idea, says the website, to give more weight to the product, so that it effectively competes with Pandora, Spotify, among others. Today, as it is inside another app, Radio ends up being hidden, while opponents appear on the home screen.
Recalling that, as the plans on iOS 8 are still in the initial stage, it may be that this change will not materialize.
