One month after launching a new layout for the news feed, Facebook has appeared with more news, this time focused on the area that houses advertising on the social network.
The field between the feed and the update bar on the right will be redesigned so that the advertisements are better adjusted with the new layout of the website. Today that space is full of small banners; they will increase in size, then decrease in quantity.
For advertisers, it is good news, because the image in this new format has the same proportions as that used in the news feed advertisements. This means that it will not be necessary to create two different images, but only one that will be adjusted by Facebook. And the company guarantees that, in tests, the engagement with the new format was three times greater.
The novelty goes on the air for users within the next few months. Some advertisers will begin to see the option by the end of April, with others receiving this format by the end of the year. During the migration period, Facebook will support both formats.
