Now official: Facebook starts showing video advertising in Brazil too. The country is included among the 7 countries that received this Tuesday, 20th, the new format, which also reaches Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Japan and the United Kingdom.
The feature, called “Premium Video Ads”, was launched in March this year in the United States and is now beginning to reach other countries.
The new format allows advertisers to include 15-second pieces in people’s news feed. They are automatically played when they appear on the screen, but they have no sound. It is up to the user to decide whether he intends to turn on the audio of the advertising piece by means of a click. The display is canceled if the user continues to roll his timeline without interacting with the video.
Along with this announcement, Facebook has unveiled new metrics for videos, which aim to enable advertisers to understand how users interact with advertising.
It is not yet defined which advertisers and agencies will use the format in this initial testing period, but this should happen in the coming months in Brazil. ToDigital Look Facebook Brasil stated that there is still no information about the prices of the ads.
