Twitter started experimenting with a new advertising format that puts ads on the users page. With the novelty, when accessing a profile, the Internet user may come across a tweet that was not sent or retweeted by the account owner.
This message will be separated from the others and come with a small warning that it was “suggested” by Twitter, being compatible with the profile of those who are viewing the advertisement, and not necessarily with the profile that is hosting it.
In conversation with Re / code, Twitter confirmed that it has started to carry out these tests, but did not inform when the new format became effective.
For now, this only appears for those who are logged in, but Re / code reminds that Twitter is looking for ways to display ads to people who visit the network even without an account, so soon it may be that advertising will also appear for this audience.
