Samsung took advantage of CES 2015 to demonstrate again its flexible television, aUN105S9B, capable of switching between flat and curved mode according to the user’s preference. The company showed at the fair a 105-inch model with 4K resolution and 21: 9 screen ratio.
When we talk about “flexible”, it may not be exactly clear in your head how it works. The GIF below, made by Gizmodo, shows the TV’s curvature process in an accelerated way.
The material at the back of the TV also expands and contracts according to the curvature of the TV to ensure that the overall size remains uniform.
The Korean had already launched a 78-inch model in its country of origin capable of flexing freely and had anticipated the 105-inch model during IFA 2014, which took place in Germany.
The company has also recently seen LG’s approach to this market. On Monday, the Korean rival also confirmed plans to launch a 77-inch TV capable of switching between flat and curved mode according to the user’s preference.
There is still no price information for the Samsung monster, but obviously, nothing cheap should be expected. It would not be surprising if the model exceeded each of the $ 200,000.
