Legend of Zelda to become a Netflix live-action series

Nintendo fans can get started and those interested in video games can get ready. The Legend Of Zelda, one of the most popular game franchises in history, is about to become an exclusive Netflix series, according to sources in the Wall Street Journal.

The publication says that the development of the series, which would not be animated and would use real actors, is still in its infancy and would tell the story of protagonist Link on a mission to save the fantastic world of Hyrule and Princess Zelda, as is already traditional in games.

The person contacted by the publication says that screenwriters are being hired to write the show and Netflix’s guidance to create a kind of Game of Thrones, but for a family audience, suitable for children.

However, it is difficult to imagine what a version of Game of Thrones would look like without nudity, sex and violence. Zelda’s playful world usually falls far short of such heavy themes.

It would be an interesting step for Nintendo, which started to be so careful with its intellectual properties after the failure of public and critics that it was the film Super Mario Bros, released in 1993. In addition, the Zelda series itself won a cartoon in 1989 , which was also a failure.

As the pre-production process is still in its early stages, there is still a long way to go before launch. However, there is also a real possibility that Netflix or Nintendo will cancel the project before it takes off, and then the show would never get off the ground.
