Governments increase requests for information about Facebook users

In the first six months of 2014, Facebook received 34,946 government requests for user data. This represents an increase of 24% over the same period last year, according to social network.

The amount of content censored also grew by 19% because of local laws.

In Brazil, 715 requests for data were made between January and June, involving 857 people. In 33% of cases Facebook was forced, by law, to provide some information.
