Revealed by developer CD Projekt Redem its YouTube channel, the new gameplay highlights aspects of the game. Its gameplay mixes the characteristics of an open world exploration game with a solid story, which develops the main character and the environment around him.

The story of “Cyberpunk 2077” takes place in the year that the game is titled, in a dystopia in which the planet suffered from major atomic catastrophes, resulting from wars between international powers. North America was largely wiped out by the events, and few large cities survived.

Night City: a city like no other

One of the highlights of Night City, where the story of the game takes place. The megalopolis has remained a thriving economic center in the midst of global chaos, using great police oppression and a belief in technological development as a way of saving itself from social problems. The background of the narrative is mainly inspired by distinctive films, such as “Robocop” and “Blade Runner”, for example.

This context led to the creation of a scenario of strong violence and structure of organized crime in Night City. The main character of the game, a mercenary called simply “V”, has a mission to explore city life in depth, becoming more powerful in the megalopolis underworld.
