The operator Claro ended 2014 at the top of an un honorable ranking. The company topped the list of advertisers most punished by Conar (National Council for Self-Regulatory Advertising) last year, with six convictions for advertising pieces considered irregular.
In the annual ranking of Meio e Mensagem, most of Claro’s condemnations came from lawsuits filed by competitors Vivo, TIM and Oi, mainly on the question of who has the best mobile internet.
One of the prominent cases, however, was for the “Sofanticos” commercial, which was considered inappropriate for showing inappropriate behaviors for young people as a way to convince parents to buy Claro’s TV package.
Claro has always appeared in the rankings prepared by the publication since 2011, but it had never been at the top. TIM, which led in 2011 and 2012 with 13 each year, had a more positive year, with only two convictions, along with Oi and GVT. In the operator area, Vivo and NET had more problems, closing 2014 with three unfavorable decisions.
