After being hacked last week, Sony Pictures, Sony’s film division, had five films leaked on the internet. “Cold”, “Annie”, “Mr. Turner”, “Forever Alice” and “To Write Love on Her Arms” (not yet translated into Portuguese) appeared on download sites.
How does the The Next Web, a source familiar with the matter says the leaks are directly related to the attack. A group that identifies itself as “GOP” took over the authorship, leaving Sony last Monday (25) without an internal network, e-mails, telephone and access to computers.
As of yesterday, “Fria”, a film that has not yet reached theaters, had been downloaded more than 1.2 million times, while “Annie” surpassed the mark of 206 thousand downloads.
A Sony spokesman told the website that “Sony Pictures Entertainment’s content theft is a criminal matter” and the company is “working with the law to address it”.
