If in Norway the FM radio is considered so obsolete that it will no longer be used, in the United States an association decided to fight with Apple so that it allows access to this type of network through the iPhone.
The Apple smartphone has a chip that is capable of capturing FM broadcasts, so the National Broadcasters Association wants the company to open this communication bridge.
In a statement echoed by the 9to5Mac, the organization argues that the use of streaming for transmissions makes the iPhone spend three times more battery, compared to the FM radio.
What perhaps the association is not taking into account is that it is not just about releasing an iOS update that “turns on” the FM radio, the company would have to adapt even the size of the device for the reception to work properly – and put on weight. iPhone is probably among the possibilities that do not excite Apple.
